USE AND CARE INSTRUCTIONS

DEDON QUALITY

DEDON applies stringent quality standards at every single step of production. Our first-rate quality and service are renowned among professional hotel operators and specifiers around the world.

DEDON CARE REQUIREMENTS

DEDON Fiber is a perfect synthesis of nature and technology. To clean the surface of your furniture woven with DEDON Fiber, use a soft cloth, warm water, and a gentle cleanser, if needed. Alcohol and other solvents are not suitable for cleaning because they can attack, damage, or discolor the surface being cleaned. DEDON Fiber can also be cleaned using a high - pressure washer on a low setting.

ALUMINUM

Any exposed powder coated frame surfaces may be cleaned with clear, lukewarm water, or if necessary, pH - neutral or slightly alkaline cleaning agents can additionally be used. After cleaning, rinse with clear water. Heavily soiled parts (caused by grease, oil, soot, adhesive residue, etc.) can be cleaned using turpentine or isopropyl alcohol (IPA). Please avoid using other chemical cleaning agents, high - pressure cleaners, or abrasive cleaning products.

STAINLESS STEEL

If stainless steel is used in outdoor areas, the cleaning effect of rain is typically enough to avoid the accumulation of harmful deposits. If stainless steel is used in areas unprotected from rain, the surface should be cleaned occasionally to avoid the accumulation of deposits from air pollution. In areas near coastlines, swimming pools, and industrial areas, stainless steel should be cleaned often due to the increased risk of corrosion arising from the concentration of chlorides and sulfur dioxide.

In indoor areas there is typically no risk of corrosion. Fingerprints on polished and brushed stainless steel surfaces can be significantly reduced by repeated cleaning. Normally, common dishwashing detergent is sufficient for this purpose. Special cleaning agents can increase the cleaning effect. A chloride - free glass cleaner should be used on stainless steel surfaces

1. Removal of normal dirt: Soap and water is all that is needed to remove grease, leftover food, or the like. Standard soluble cleaning agents can best accelerate the cleaning process. It is highly advisable to refrain from using abrasive cleaning agents.

2. Extraneous rust: Due to stainless steel’s own natural protection against corrosion, the formation of rust is only possible in extremely favorable conditions – for instance, when coming into contact with iron, base metals, or rust molecules. It is therefore important to ensure that stainless steel does not come in contact with iron or other rusty materials.

3. Pitting corrosion: Pitting corrosion is used to describe the process when stainless steel’s natural protective layer is corroded by liquid solutions such as halogens and their salts (bromides, iodides, chlorides, and fluorides). These liquids dissolve the metal under the protective layer and cause scratches, pitting, and in the worst case, holes.

For this reason, one must bear the following in mind when cleaning stainless steel:

•Chrome nickel steel’s resistance to corrosion is reduced by acids and halogen compounds (chlorides, bromides, iodides).

•Chlorine solutions (Javelle water) should not be used

•Extraneous rust should be avoided (iron dust, unsuitable kitchen tools, etc.)

TABLETOPS

Glass

Single - layer safety glass consists of a single sheet of glass and offers increased resistance to temperature changes as well as excellent resistance to bending, impact, and shock. Clean with any cleaner suited for glass or a non-abrasive all-surface cleaner.

High Pressure Laminate (HPL)

Is a non - toxic material that is highly resistant to impact, mechanical stress, moisture and steam. Clean with any non-abrasive all-surface cleaner.

Teak

Consisting of beautiful slow-growth premium teak, rich with natural tannin oils, the tabletop offers great durability in extreme weather conditions. If left to weather naturally, its golden color will change to an even, silver gray. Wash using warm water in which natural soap flakes have been dissolved.

Aluminum

Softly bended aluminum sheets, cut by laser jet, are covered with a highly resistant powder coating, giving the InJoy tabletop unbeatable durability and outdoor performance. It is easy to maintain with a soft cloth and warm water.

Mineral-Composite

Cut by water-jet from world‘s largest slabs in this format, produced especially for DEDON, tabletops are pore-free, frost-resistant, insensitive to UV-rays, twice as strong as glass and highly resistant to scuffing. Clean these materials with a soft cloth and warm water.

Monolite Ipergres

This material is resistant to chemical agents. It can be washed and cleaned with any kind of detergent. Monolite is highly resistant to scouring and is typically scratchproof.

Kerlite Ceramic

Kerlite is resistant to solvents, disinfectants, and cleansing agents. The surface is easy to clean, fireproof and resistant to high temperatures, as well as resistant to heat deep abrasion. Kerlite is also resistant to UV radiation and suitable for any climate and all weather conditions. Kerlite is a completely natural product. Clean this material with a soft cloth, warm water and a gentle cleanser if and as needed.

CANOPYS

The canopies from our ORBIT, SWINGREST & SUMMER CLOUD collections can be washed with lukewarm water and mild cleaning agents. Please use a sponge or soft brush to wipe the material and fully open the canopy before cleaning. Please follow the complete washing instructions for the canopy included in the assembly instructions (or request a replacement copy if you cannot find the one included with your original delivery).

PROTECTIVE COVERS

The protective covers included with orders of some DEDON products are treated to resist water, oil and dirt, functioning to protect the furniture. These covers are not recommended as a permanent cover for cushions, as moisture may collect and lead to the formation of mold stains. Furniture and cushions should be thoroughly dry before being covered for an extended period of time. Please note that the covers are especially tailored to your furniture item and precise placement is required (indicated by the yellow or brown piping). In order to increase the circulation of air and avoid the formation of condensation, the covers are not made to floor length. Never pack or fold covers that have become wet; instead, let them dry in a well-ventilated place. Use a soft cloth and warm water to clean the covers, using a gentle upholstery cleaner if necessary. Rinse with clean water. Solvents are not suitable for cleaning the covers as these are aggressive to the surface and may cause damage and discoloration.

DEDON CUSHIONS AND FABRICS (does not include COM or COL)

DEDON uses some of the world’s most advanced textile technology processes to create cushions you can leave outside without giving them a second thought. Our high-quality acrylic materials are sprayed with Teflon® which means that they are not only splash resistant but also UV-resistant with no loss of comfort.

The foam core created exclusively for DEDON and the synthetic fiber padding are enveloped by Hanes, a water-resistant, breathable SMS polypropylene-based spunbonded nonwoven material. Self-sealing, swelling seams prevent water penetrating the foam core. However, we don’t recommend leaving your cushions outdoor permanently. After a shower of rain, they should be allowed to dry, so as to protect them from mold stains. When storing the cushions for the winter, for example, make sure they are fully dry. The cushion cover can be washed from time to time pursuant to the following instructions. To keep the genuine leather of the SeaX collection looking good, we recommend regular treatment with leather care products. Our materials are specifically created for DEDON and fulfill the highest of quality standards for exteriors. The acrylic materials are characterized by their high lightfast properties (7– 8) and the polypropylene materials have a lightfast rating of 6–7. More information can be found on our homepage.
